New - MOLD DRIVE controller series
At the K 2013 trade fair, in addition to numerous other developments, HUMMEL AG will present the new MOLD DRIVE controller series with a built-in servomotor control system. The market's most comprehensive range of controllers will thereby gain additional devices that can control and regulate up to four servo drives and a maximum of 48 hot-runner zones. As is standard at HUMMEL, these new TEMP STAR* controllers prioritise maximum ease-of-use and clear representation of process data. Making adjustments is child's play using the standard touch screen, and numerous monitoring functions ensure maximum process reliability.
Easy operation is also bolstered by the new adjustment wizard, a standard feature in all MASTER and PROFESSIONAL devices. This function guides the user to optimum adjustment values step by step, making it considerably easier to commission a new hot-runner mould. Further highlights in the TEMP STAR* range include improved diagram display in the PROFESSIONAL devices, simplified group formation and a freely configurable data view for archived process data.
The company will also present the brand-new MOLD DRIVE series for controlling all kinds of tool movements. Servo drives excel in unscrewing and linear movements, e.g. for sliders, cores, plates or needle valves, by delivering precise, repeatable motion sequences and maximum reproducibility of the end position – both of which are indispensable, particularly for precision parts in the field of medical technology. Clean-room compatibility, a high power spectrum and problem-free operation even at temperatures of up to 180°C round off the list of advantages of these drives, which also have a very compact construction. The combination of hot-runner regulation and servomotor control eliminates the need for another peripheral device especially for the drive. The built-in control system can be controlled easily via the standard touch screen and can be configured individually via password-protected user levels. Even complex sequences of rotational and linear movements can be programmed and stored. Furthermore, the control software allows monitoring of torque limits and therefore the detection of emerging faults before defective parts are produced or tool damage occurs. The front-mounted LED lights indicate the current operating status at a glance.
